Our Newest Initiative Connecting College Student-Athletes, Younger Students, and Communities in Need
Soleful Schools connects college athletic programs with local elementary and middle schools to collect shoes and athletic gear to donate to disadvantaged children around the world.
To date, Soleful Schools has collected, cleaned, and sorted more than 1,100 pairs of shoes through partnerships with the University of Arizona and University of Southern California athletic departments. Support is growing at other college athletic programs to join our cause.
Our team donated many of the original 600 pairs of shoes collected in our inaugural drive at the University of Arizona to children served by our partner Vive Peru in August 2015. The rest of the running and athletic shoes have been donated to disadvantaged youth in Kenya and the greater Tucson and Los Angeles areas.

The concept behind Soleful Schools:
- College Student-Athletes teach younger students about the importance of giving back, studying hard, and being physically active.
- Grade School Students and Parents support these drives by collecting and donating shoes and sports equipment.
- Teachers and Administrators engage students and parents in collecting shoes in small sizes that are often in highest demand among our nonprofit partners.
- Nonprofit Partners doing the impactful work that we seek to amplify form the foundation of our commitment to serving communities strategically.
